Concert Wreath
5th Anniversary - Concert

To celebrate its 5th Anniversary, the Ukrainian School of Arts began its annual concert with a special slide show presentation. This slideshow highlighted the school's many performances and accomplishments of the last 5 years. The Masters of Ceremonies, Svitlana Kukushkina and Dmytro Bilan provided a historical overview and noted the school's numerous achievements. Together with the Artistic Directors, Lesia and Valeriy Movchan, they thanked the many sponsors, supporters and individuals who contributed so generously towards the school's success. A special thank you was expressed to all of the volunteers and parent class representatives who assist with the administrative and operational tasks on a regular basis.

The senior ensemble "Ukraina" once again mesmerized the audience with their performance. The vibrant colours, exuberant energy and dancer enthusiasm truly captivated the audience. The "Ukraina" ensemble truly enriches the landscape of Ukrainian performing arts within the greater Toronto area.

Pryvit

The Vocal Ensembles, "Dzereltce" and "Promin", under the direction of Stepanija Plotnyk, a regular highlight of each annual concert, entertained the audience with several songs. Their unique repertoire included several solo interludes and a few jointly performed songs as well. The trusted and talented Alexandr (Sashko) Popov provided musical accompaniment on the "Bayan" --- an accordian-like national instrument of Ukraine.

Thank You
Stepha

A regular feature involves combining several ensemble groups for joint dance numbers. The opening Pryvit - "Chervonya Kalyna" was performed by "Dzereltce", "Unist", Junior "Ukraina" and "Ukraina" for a truly spectacular energetic and colourful array. Other dances, like "Hulianochka" and the Carpathian Suite, joined the "Zoretsvit" ensemble with the Ukraina and Jr. Ukraina ensembles.

Kvitka

An adorable treat of each annual concert involves the youngest "Kvitka" ensemble who literally takes its "first steps" onto the performance stage. These children, ages 4-5, are always greeted with a smile and chuckle from the loving audience.
